Independent psychiatric practices in Suffolk County should be able to stay independent.
IPG Suffolk exists so that the practices who choose to remain their own can negotiate once, together, and see the terms before anyone is bound by them.
No practice gives up its name, its clinicians, or its way of working. Each remains its own business, with its own patients and its own schedule.
We keep the group small enough that its members know each other, and serious enough about quality and data to be worth a health plan's time.

Dr. Rafiq is a psychiatrist in private practice on Long Island and the founder of Psychvisit, an outpatient practice offering medication management, psychotherapy, and integrative care. He has spent more than fifteen years in frontline psychiatric work, in both hospital and community settings.
He also co-founded Nextvisit, a documentation platform built for behavioral health clinicians, and has taught and supervised students through affiliations with Yeshiva University, D'Youville, St. John's, and Mount St. Mary's.
He started IPG Suffolk because the practices around him were being asked to choose between staying independent and being able to negotiate at all. He does not believe that is the only choice available.
